John A. “Jack” Higgins, age 71, of Red Oak, died January 14, 2010. He was a retired pipe fitter with New Haven Plumbers JAC and an honorary police officer with Cheshire Connecticut Police Department. He was the widower of Polly Higgins and is survived by his wife, Rachel Higgins, children, Elaine Amador of Lake Orion, MI; Chris Draper of Clarksville; Charlene Garcia of Irvine, TX; Frances Pruitt of Roxboro, NC; special niece, Hope Medley of Red Oak, 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Wood Funeral Service. Interment will follow in Clover Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
